NIOS PCP Classes and Practicals: Schedule, Attendance and Marks
NIOS PCPs are face-to-face support sessions at your study centre. Practical PCPs are compulsory — miss them and it costs you.
What you get
- One induction session and 30 PCP sessions per subject for theory
- Five additional practical sessions for subjects with practicals
- Usually on weekends and holidays, in the first year of admission
- Free — do not pay the study centre anything extra
When
| Block I | Block II | |
|---|---|---|
| Theory PCPs start | November | May |
| Practical PCPs | February | August |
Practical marks
The five practical PCPs are used for formative assessment (50% of practical marks); the sixth, final practical class is the summative assessment (50%). Attendance at all five practical sessions is compulsory.
Missed them? You can re-register for the five PCP practicals during your admission validity by paying the formative assessment fee per practical subject, plus the subject exam fee.
Set expectations
PCPs are for clearing doubts — they don’t cover the whole syllabus like a regular school. Study from the self-learning material first.
