Which document to show, and when
- Anyone questioning whether NIOS is a real board: the 20 October 1990 Gazette of India notice and the NIOS FAQ.
- University or college admission: the AIU equivalence notification and the government equivalence circular.
- Engineering, pharmacy or other AICTE-approved courses: the AICTE circular.
- Tamil Nadu government jobs or promotions: the Tamil Nadu government orders.
- D.El.Ed (NIOS teacher training): the NCTE recognition order.
- Suspicious “NIOS” website or agent: the NIOS fake-website list.
Tips
- Save the PDF from the nios.ac.in link, not a copy from a third-party site.
- Carry your NIOS marksheet, certificate and migration certificate along with the circular.
- If an office still refuses, ask for the refusal in writing and contact NIOS through its official channels: NIOS helpline and email.
