Minimum age rule
For Secondary, the learner must be at least 14 years old on the applicable cutoff. For Senior Secondary, the learner must be at least 15 years old and must also have passed Secondary/Class 10 from a recognised board.
- Block I age date: 31 July of the admission year
- Block II age date: 31 January of the following calendar year
2026 DOB cutoffs
For Block I 2026, Secondary learners should be born on or before 31 July 2012 and Senior Secondary learners on or before 31 July 2011. For Block II 2026-27, the corresponding cutoffs from the standing age rule are 31 January 2013 and 31 January 2012.
- Class 10 Block I: on/before 31 July 2012
- Class 12 Block I: on/before 31 July 2011
- Class 10 Block II: on/before 31 January 2013
- Class 12 Block II: on/before 31 January 2012
DOB documents and mistakes
The prospectus lists acceptable evidence such as a municipal birth certificate, passport, eligible transfer/school-leaving certificate or Aadhaar showing the complete DOB, depending on the course and case. Enter the date carefully: later correction is restricted and document mismatches can delay confirmation.
