Transfer of Credit

NIOS TOC admission: preserve eligible passes without breaking certification.

Transfer of Credit can carry eligible passed subjects from a recognised parent board, but it is not a stream and does not itself guarantee a certificate.

SOURCE-REVIEWED · 2026–27 ACADEMIC PROSPECTUS

This guide is based on the provided NIOS 2026–27 prospectus and current official NIOS pages checked 25 August 2026.

Who this route is for

Eligible learners with passed subjects on a recognised parent-board marksheet who want those credits considered by NIOS.

Rules to check

  1. 1
The 2026–27 prospectus permits Transfer of Credit for a maximum of two qualifying passed subjects.
  2. 2
The parent-board marksheet and roll details are essential for review.
  3. 3
Transferred and newly passed subjects must still form a valid five-subject NIOS certification combination.
  4. 4
TOC has a separate official per-subject fee shown on the current fee page.

Do not skip these cautions

Case-specific verification
  • Do not count a subject until its equivalence, pass status and current TOC eligibility are verified.
  • TOC is a credit rule; choose the admission stream separately.
