Fresh or regular admission
Stream 1 is the normal route for learners beginning a full Secondary or Senior Secondary course. Plan at least five certification subjects and check language, practical and future-course requirements before locking the combination.
Transfer of Credit (TOC)
TOC may allow eligible passed subjects from a recognised parent board to be transferred within current NIOS limits. The parent-board marksheet, failed-subject status, subject equivalence and timing all matter. Do not assume every passed subject or every board result is transferable.
Improvement
Improvement is for a learner seeking a better performance in an eligible subject already passed or attempted. Before applying, confirm how the improved result will appear and whether the receiving college, examination or employer accepts the resulting documents.
- Identify the exact result you need to improve
- Check theory and practical consequences
- Verify certificate and marksheet treatment
- Confirm the receiving institution's rules
A safe decision order
Start with the learner's previous marksheet and future goal. Then select the valid NIOS route, build the subject plan, check documents and only after that complete the official form and payment.
